Amy
Landsman, nationally noted graphic designer of both
religious and secular artworks and educator on related
subjects, has been a professional, freehand, graphic
and typographic designer since 1975 from her studio
at Cherry Hill, NJ. Her work has been shown in art
galleries in New Jersey, Manhattan, and the Brooklyn
Museum as well as having received recognition in
juried competition. As an adjunct Professor of Art
at Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey, Amy
taught courses in Color Theory, Two-Dimensional
Design, Three-Dimensional Design, and Experiencing
Art. She also taught Judaic and Hebrew Studies from
kindegarten through ninth grade at Temple Emanuel,
Cherry Hill, New Jersey. For the past few years,
she was the art specialist for nursery through eight
grades at the Harry B. Kellman Academy, a Solomon
Schechter Day School in Cherry Hill.
Amy has served as a member of the Board of Trustees
of Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill for sixteen years,
where she has also served as Vice President of Membership,
Vice President of Education, and as a member of
the Ritual Committee. She received a Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Illustration from the California
College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, and a Master
of Arts Degree from the Philadelphia College of
Art, majoring in Art Education and Advertising Design.
Her membership affiliations have included a number
of the world's most prestigious professional calligraphic
groups. |

Workshop with Amy
Carrying
out a Judaic Art Kits program is very easy (See Running
a Workshop 101). If, however, you desire an additional
professional dimension to your program, including
creative inspiration, guidance, and religious/secular
art knowledge to enhance the educational, spiritual,
and artistic scope of your experience, welcome Amy
to lead your workshop. The steps below provide you
with everything you need to know about bringing Amy
to your community.

Figure
out the workshop costs to see if your budget allows
bringing a guest presenter or running the workshop
using your own staff. Your costs will include:
1. Judaic Art Kits' supplies:
Base Kits: See appropriate product
page for pricing and quantity discounts.
Pattern Folder: $18, $36, or $40 plus the cost
of making 11x17" copies @ $3.00 per base
kit (unless you prefer to make the copies yourself).
Marvy Fabric
Markers (For Siddur
Cover workshop, you'll need the DecoFabric
paint markers).
Magic
Sizing Spray Cans.
2. Instructor Costs:
Instruction Fee: $100.00 per hour (See
chart below for workshop length). Guarantee
of a minimum of 10 participants per workshop except
as otherwise noted.
3. Travel Costs:
If travel by airplane, the cost of round-trip
airfare from Philadelphia International Airport
(including per-day airport parking fees), a transit
fee of $50.00 per hour if additional travel by
car is necessary to arrive at your location, and
a guaranteed instruction time of five hours per
day.
If travel by car, a minimum transit fee of $50.00
per hour from Cherry Hill, NJ, to your location.

Flyer Request Form. We will customize, free
of charge, a promotional flyer for your workshop. |

reserve your workshop date, mail a nonrefundable
deposit of $500 to Amy Landsman. |

| Call
us to borrow a sample of a Garment in Process.
This is a sample of the garment you are looking
to create. It shows the process in which the garment
is made: from a blank fabric, to a traced design,
to a colored segment. This will help people understand
the simplicity of the process and see the high
quality of the finished heirloom. While there
is no charge for the Garment in Process, we do
need your credit card information to secure the
return of the garment. |

| Invite
target audience for an informational gathering
where you'll promote the workshop, display the
Garment in Process, and distribute the promotional
flyers. |

| Collect
registration forms and make reminder calls to
those who forgot to register. |
| |
 |
| Call
us to place your order and call Amy to let her
know the final numbers. |
| |
 |
Get
the workshop room ready:
Access to set up the room is needed for at least
two hours prior to workshop.
Room should be well lit. If the room lighting
is insufficient, please bring in additional lights.
Three to four 6-8' smooth-surfaced tables for
supplies.
Set as many 6-8' smooth-surfaced tables for participants
as required (see chart below
for details).
Cover tables with Kraft paper. Secure paper with
masking tape at each corner.
Set needed supplies as follows:
- One roll of masking tape per kit
- One pair of large scissors per kit
- One pencil per kit
- One glue-stick (white only) per kit
- Irons, ironing boards, and extension cords. |
