The Rimone Path Process
Up to 24 hours before the program, spray the pre-sewn fabrics and practice fabrics (from the Base Kits) with Magic Sizing and iron dry on low heat.
Program introduction, based on our complimentary Workshop Guide, provides participants with essential educational information about the ritual item they are about to create.
Participants start by selecting the design elements they want to incorporate into their heirloom from the copies you made of the Pattern Folder. They may create their own unique designs and/or mix and match patterns. Once selected and trimmed, patterns are taped onto work surface.
After practicing on the test square provided, participants tape the pre-sewn, sheer fabric on top of their layout and trace it with a fine-point gray, peach, or goldenrod marker.
Once designs are traced, participants color them with the fabric markers and let dry. Their new family heirloom is ready to enjoy as soon as they recite the Shehekheyanu!
Using regular silk dyes on Rimone Base Kits
While we have no direct experience with dyes other than the Marvy Fabric Markers, a number
of our customers have used various silk dyes and been extremely pleased with the
results. Artist Elizabeth Yaari, for example, has been doing beautiful work with
silk dyes on our Tallit, Tallit Case and Hallah Cover kits. The dyes she uses
are Dye-na-Flow by Jacquard, Setasilk by Pebeo, and SilkColor by Sennelier. All three
can be ordered from Dharma Trading. Any of these dyes would be suitable for
use with any of our of faux-silk products, providing
you follow the manufacturers instructions.
The Rimone Path [ Pomegranate ]
Every Rimone Path program is comprised of four compnents, which are available for purchase separately:
Includes the specially prepared Faux-Silk fabric, easy-to-follow instructions, and a practice fabric that you can use to brainstorm design ideas. Some products also include additional base kit components. Order one Base Kit per participant.
Contains an extensive collection of patterns (blessings, clip art and Aleph-Bet, specifically tailored for each product) so that each participant can create a truly unique heirloom. You need to order only one Pattern Folder as well give you permission to make copies as needed.
Marvy fabric markers are non-toxic, permanent, professional-quality markers specifically designed to penetrate the fabric, allowing the rich, vibrant colors to be visible from both sides. Each color is available in broad- or fine-point. We suggest you order at least three different broad-point markers plus two fine-point markers for each participant.
When coloring the Faux-Silk fabric with Fabric Markers, colors naturally blend with one another and gently bleed into the fabric, creating a silk-painting effect. To achieve a crisper look, spray the fabric with Magic Sizing and iron at silk setting. Treating the fabric seals its pores and thereby prevents excessive color bleeding.
