Fall 2006 | Stav 5766

As the days get shorter and cooler, and this year is coming to an end, we spend the month of Elul reflecting on the past year and preparing for an even better, more insightful and enlightening upcoming year.
In this New Year, may we be mindful of creating fruitfully with the same intensity and passion as our creator.

Online ordering system restored
As some of you already know, our online ordering system was hacked earlier this summer resulting in many orders going to never-never-land. While the ordering system is now restored and problem free, we have no way of accessing those lost orders.

If you placed an online order through any of our three websites during the past three months and did not hear back from us, please accept our sincere apologies. We normally respond to all orders within 48 hours, so if you did not hear from us within that time period, please contact us immediately at 1.800.862.3449 and your order will receive priority processing.

Kol HaKavod to CAJE
The CAJE 31 conference, which took place this past August at Duke University in North Carolina, celebrated and honored CAJE's executive director Elliot Spack's 26 years of service and upcoming retirement. Rising to the occasion everyone (led by co-chairs Amy Ripps and JoHanna Potts) worked especially hard this year to create the best CAJE conference I've ever attended.

The outstanding opening night, narrated by a playful Carol Starin, was followed by well-planned and beautifully executed conference with extraordinary keynote speakers, inspiring sessions, and a incredible sense of communal learning and camaraderie.

Kol HaKavod, Elliot. Kol HaKavod, CAJE Mazkirut and staff. Kol HaKavod, CAJE!

New Siddur Cover Embroideries
Due to popular demand, we have added new options for embroideries on the Siddur Covers. Most of you prefer the covers embroidered with only the student's name so that you can invite families to decorate the covers. However, we’ve found an increasing interest in additional embroideries for use by congregations who do not offer workshops.

Therefore, we now offer eight additional embroidery design options, including the new Tree of Life, Peace Dove, and Seven Branch Menorah, as well as the familiar Star of David, Torah, Boy Reading Torah, Circle of Flowers, and David Star with Vine designs.

We also modified the Siddur Cover catalog page and the personalization form to include a tool showing every variation of fabric/embroidery thread color combination.

We are honored to be the number one supplier of Siddur Covers in the United States, and are committed to continuing to provide the best Siddur Covers possible.

One of my favorite Jewish art educators is Gwen Samuels, whose workshops about the importance of the creative process have inspired me to change the way I teach. Unfortunately, she did not attend this past CAJE. Luckily for me, I got to meet Gwen recently in my new hometown of Los Angeles, CA.

Gwen has left Jewish art education and joined the secular art world, blossoming as an incredible artist. Check out her outstanding artwork at GwenSamuels.com and get some Nahat in seeing one of our own doing so well.

Beat the Traffic. Order Today!
Starting mid-October, we switch gears at our studio and work long hours to fulfill your many orders. While we are fully prepared for the barrage of orders, we invite you to consider ordering a bit earlier this year to avoid expedited shipping charges and to get especially attentive service.

While you're at it, please check out our web catalog to see our complete list of programs. Many of you are often surprised to find out we carry Hanukkah Candle Caps and programs such as Mizrah, Tzedakah Angels, and Tzitzit Tying Kits.

Let's make this year count!
