Every
year, around November, I treat the entire Judaic Art
Kits team to an annual celebration at a local restaurant.
Last November, as both Nancy and Judy began their
battles with cancer, we felt we couldn’t celebrate
without them. Unfortunately, as you already know,
Judy died about two months ago. Last month, however,
Nancy informed us that her cancer is in full remission!
So all of us, including spouses, significant others
and children, gathered for a double celebration at
one of Rochester’s best restaurants. It was
simply exhilarating to see Nancy doing so well and
looking so good. I’m glad to report that she
has already returned to work with renewed spirit.

Workshops
in New York City and around the country
I will be in New York City from May 17 to June 1st
and will be available for last minute workshops and/or
meetings.
If you plan to have one of our Master
Teachers present a workshop at your school or
synagogue this coming school year, now it is the time
reserve your dates! Most schools want weekend workshops,
and there are just not enough weekends to accommodate
all your requests. Our calendars are usually filled
for the year before Rosh HaShanah.
New
Wimpel Pattern Folder
It took about a year to complete, and now the new
Wimpel Pattern Folder is finally here!
The major improvement are in the blessing pattern;
we modified its structure and font to reflect the
findings from the research we did last year in Berlin.
This past Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) I was
invited to teach a Wimpel Workshop at Congregation
Beth David in Miami FL. It was especially
inspiring to revive the wimpel making tradition, which
almost became extinct after World War II, as our small
way of remembering those who died and honoring those
who survived.

End Quilt Season
Many
of you ordered our Judaic Quilts this year and right
now we have a number of quilts in process. If you need
your finished quilt sent back to you by a certain date,
please call us ASAP!

We
will exhibit at the CAJE Day School Conference
from June 27 to June 29.
We will NOT, however, exhibit at the regular CAJE
Conference in August. I will come to the
conference as an attendee and will join you all in
learning (for the first time in nine years!). If you’d
like to meet with me during the conference, you can
either send me an email in advance or reach me via

itself.
