A Tallit of Butterflies
While I see people create beautiful tallitot using our kits all the time, I was practically stunned
when I saw the Tallit my friend Revital Goldreich and her family created for her daughter Ashtar’s Bat-Mitzvah.
Using our B’nai Mitzvah Tallit
with Atarah Kit, they first traced and colored one of our Tallit Blessing patterns. Then, they traced butterfly designs from enlarged stickers onto the
tallit and colored them with a combination of
Marvy Fabric Markers and DecoFabric Paint Markers. This unusual combination, as you can see, resulted in an extraordinary creation.

Adar I & II 5765 Specials & News
February 10, 2005- April 7, 2005
Living in Upstate New York, one can easily understand why some creatures hibernate during this time of year. For us at Judaic Art Kits, however, this winter has offered very little sleep so far. Yorron’s winter calendar started with an amazing NATE conference in New York City. Then two feet of snow in Rochester. Followed by the Lookstein Conference in Miami and the RAVSAK conference in Irvine, CA. More snow in Rochester. Then several workshops in Nashville. More snow in Rochester. Weekly visits to Toronto (snow storms galore) and three weeks of workshops in Los Angeles. Is this itinerary a good enough excuse why this newsletter is almost two months late?
Internet Mailing List
This is our first e-Newsletter using the new secured mail server. While the main goal for the switch was to eliminate the security breeches we experienced last year, we hope that you will also enjoy the new photo format. Please let us know what you think about the new style and whether you are experiencing any difficulties with it. Also, on the bottom of this e-Newsletter you have the option to edit your profile for your subscription, in case you have not done it so far.
Think Spring, Please
Purim is just around the corner but we are already preparing for Passover, stocking up on Matzah Bags, Afikoman Bags, and Pesach Table Runners. We invite you to join us and Think Spring Now (despite the never-ending snow and/or rain) and place your Pre-Passover orders now.
Although we do our best to always be prepared, sometimes those last-minute orders come all at once, leaving us unable to fulfill some rush orders.
CAJE 2005: A Different Kind of Animal!
CAJE's 30th Annual Conference, from schedule to content, is promising to be very different this year. The conference’s program begins on Friday afternoon(!) with a leisurely Shabbat program.
Observance of Tisha B'Av will begin after Havdalah. Various offerings will help participants move from mourning to hope together as a community.
Sunday evening and Monday will have pre-Conference activities, followed by the opening night ceremony on Monday evening. The conference will end on Thursday evening, so plan on catching the redeye or reserve your bed for one more night to leave on Friday morning.
The conference will highlight high-level and focused professional development. It will bring together representatives of many groups to reexamine questions of excellence in Jewish education. From the latest approaches to classroom planning and management, to ways to build sacred communities of learners, the goal will be to have participants leave with usable knowledge, skills, and ideas.
Chaired by Iris Petroff and Cheryl Cohen, I’m positive that this conference will be one of CAJE’s best! Check out http://www.caje.org for more information. You’ll even be able to register online and save money in the process.
